Castle Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday 10am to 4pm
“The Castle is a gathering place of trust and friendship which supports people with mental illness and disorders to achieve their highest level of competence and independence.”
We are a safe haven for members who experience mental disorders. The Castle is a place where living and social skills are fostered; a stepping stone for people who want to be a productive part of our community.
We serve approximately 150 individuals in a year – about 35 a day; providing a safe haven where trust and friendships are formed, members can share with each other and get support during their daily struggles. We offer a variety of activities and a nutritious lunch.
Most recently our board has committed to move services into the “Recovery Model” to support our members as they grow into “Mental “Wellness”.
We only receive a portion of our funding from the levy (40%), the rest we must raise.
The Castle is operated by the Friends of the Castle, a private non-profit organization – 501(c)(3)
Christ the King church operates Hope4Us, a Christian faith-based peer-to-peer support group for anyone in the community who wants to improve their mental health and work towards wellness and recovery. This includes people who live with mental illness and those who are supporting a family member living with mental illness.
