Our Community Gathers At The Castle
The Dayton community gathers at the Castle to recommit to de-mystifying and de-stigmatizing mental illness around a theme of “Changing Attitudes…Changing Lives”
The event included an art show – “The Masks”. Indivuals from the Castle, We Care Arts and Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center crafted masks to portray the message “You never know who is behind the mask of mental illness”.
Ryan Peirson, MD , Director of Community Psychiatry of Wright State University and Medical Director for the Montgomery County Alchohol, Drug Addicton and Mental Health Services Board delivered an inspiring key note address.
We also heard personal stories of strength and resolve from several poeple living with mental illness.
The event concluded with a prayer vigil led by our faith based community partners and a community grill out.
